Family shoot : Claire, David & Isabella

Here's a lovely little family shoot to brighten a winters day!  Isabella was such a sweetie, so relaxed and laid back!
The great thing about having shoots at home with young babies, is that they're comfortable in their surroundings, with familiar toys and smells.  Not to mention the outfit changes and refreshments!
It's also really nice to incorporate personal things into a shoot when possible, like the Bella letters that we used for this shoot and the wooden bunny.  I couldn't resist the laundry basket in the bathroom, how cute!

Isabella's amazing pout, look at the concentration!

If you are interested or you know somebody you think would enjoy a gift voucher for a portrait session at home (or on location) I'd love to hear from you!

Pre-Wedding Loveliness at Buckler's Hard - Beaulieau

Helen & Dominic will be tying the knot at Beaulieau Abbey this April,  and I met with them recently for their pre-wedding shoot.  We decided to head to Buckler's Hard in Beaulieau Village, as it was near to the venue but offered a totally different backdrop for their shoot.  The location was fantastic for a couples shoot, with the mix of the woodland, waterside, lovely brick cottages and countryside! Perfect!

To say it was cold is an understatement, but everyone seems to stay warm on pre wedding shoots, must be the romance! (and the thought of the hot chocolate in the cafe afterwards!)

One very kind gentleman asked if I wanted to be in the picture too!..... I'm not sure they would appreciate that!  How funny!

Tree climbing baby

I'm not sure what it is about seeing my daughter hiding behind trees , or perhaps I should say trying to hide....  It just makes me smile!  The first one was taken when Emilie was about 3 months old, the second was recently at 10 months old!  I'm seeing a little project starting here!.....

Winter doesn't have to be grey!

Brrrr, this weekend has been pretty freezing!! It's always this time of year when the winter just seems to be going on forever and any glimpse of sunshine fills you with hope that spring is just around the corner.  Though there are many down sides of winter,  there are also beautiful things about it.

I love the roar of the log burner and the cosiness of the dark nights, and especially wrapping up really warm on those beautiful crisp sunny winter days and going for a lovely walk to blow the cobwebs away.  If anything, the general dullness of winter makes us appreciate beautiful colours when we do see them.  I definitely appreciate winter sun more than in the summer as it's a wonderful unexpected treat!

To brighten up a dull winters day, I just wanted to share some of my favourite images from a recent trip to Brighton.  See just how colourful winter can be!
